Belonging is a self-published zine about my experiences as a transracial adoptee.
Growing up as an international adoptee, I quickly learned what it felt like to be alone. Not being able to see myself in my peers, media, or even my family was an incredibly isolating experience. The life I’ve lived and my identity have always been at odds.
These stories outline moments throughout my life where I’ve had to face that identity- moments that have reminded me of my differences and how those differences define me.
Combining my focus in both editorial and publishing, I wrote and illustrated five short stories marked for separate points through out my life.
